FHU CARE aims at bringing together clinicians and scientists involved in Autoimmune Diseases, Inflammatory Diseases and Cancer to favor the emergence of new paradigms :

Pathophysiology of Cancer and of Autoimmune Diseases (AID) / Inflammatory Diseases (ID) may share common or opposite mechanisms.
Treatment of Autoimmunity and treatment of Cancer are inter-related.

Adaptive and innate Immunity. The balance between pro vs anti-Inflammatory Immune cells (macrophages, T cells, dendritic cells) is opposed in C vs AID/ID.

Auto-Immunity and Inflammation are risk factors of Cancer

Risk of Cancer in Autoimmune Diseases and Inflammatory Diseases. Risks, implications and evolution, drugs and new perspectives in Cancer Immune surveillance.

Immune-Related Adverse Events (irAEs), in the immunotherapy of Cancer

Management of adverse events, modulation of Autoimmunity, modulating microbiome treatment to cure Cancer.

Teaching the relation between Auto-Immunity and Cancer

Specific training on Autoimmune Diseases, Cancer and Inflammatory Diseases, will be implemented in the University Diplomas.

Observational studies: They improve the knowledge of the disease and its evolution over time. They are carried out within the framework of the follow-up of the patients in the reference centers.

Interventional studies or clinical trials: They provide scientific evidence of the efficacy and safety of a new drug, a new care device or a new management in the context of an illness. This is the necessary step for a new molecule to become a drug or a new medical device to be marketed.
