Building on the pioneering work initiated by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fhucare.com\/fhu-care2\/experts-and-network\/#Ga\u00ebtane-Nocturne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ga\u00ebtane Nocturne<\/a><\/strong>, these mini\u2011tissues recapitulate key pathological features and reproduce essential <strong>epithelial\u2013immune cell<\/strong> interactions. The integration of immune components into the organoids is currently underway, paving the way for <strong>next\u2011generation immuno\u2011organoid systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a <strong>national reference center for rare systemic autoimmune diseases<\/strong>, we benefit from continuous access to <strong>high\u2011quality patient samples<\/strong>. This work has already led to several publications, notably in <strong>rheumatoid arthritis<\/strong>, based on <strong>large-scale population data<\/strong> (fig. 1 and 2). The project aims to extend these studies to immune-mediated diseases and treatments, with three main research axes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>(i) <strong>cancer risk<\/strong> associated with <strong>immune-mediated diseases<\/strong>, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(ii) and risk related to their <strong>treatments<\/strong>, and <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(iii) <strong>lymphoma risk<\/strong> in <strong>autoimmune diseases<\/strong>, with a specific focus on <strong>Sj\u00f6gren\u2019s disease<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Sj\u00f6gren\u2019s disease<\/strong>, the project will study both the impact of <strong>treatments<\/strong> on <strong>lymphoma risk<\/strong> and the development of a <strong>predictive score<\/strong> to identify patients at higher risk of lymphoma. He works with an <strong>AI deeptech<\/strong> startups to train neural networks to identify biopsy patterns associated with Sj\u00f6gren\u2019s disease diagnosis and new biomarkers associated with disease endotypes.
